FAQ: If I have an agent, why should I join Fishpond?

It's a common misconception that if an actor has an agent, then they don't need to be on Fishpond. They think their agent receives all the breakdowns that go through the pond. Well, think again!
Casters don’t share every role with the entire pond. They search and reach out to specific actors through their profiles. If you’re not on Fishpond, they won’t find you and your agent will never see the brief.
Approximately 1/3 of the roles on Fishpond are cast through these searches. That’s a lot of work that your agent won’t ever see, and you will miss out. Fishpond helps your agent, as well as you.
Casters will often opt for a search as opposed to a posting if the role is part of a high-profile, confidential project. And those are exactly the projects you want to be considered for.
Casters may also choose to search and reach out to actors if the role is very specific. So, you could be missing out on roles that are absolutely perfect for you.
On your profile, simply add your agent’s information, and any messages sent to you from casters will also reach them. So don’t worry — they’ll always be kept in the loop.
Your agent works hard — but they can’t pitch you for roles they never see. Being on Fishpond means you are seen for more opportunities, and more of the roles you really want.
